MIVAL is excited to once again recognize our young, creative and emerging artists. Awards and prizes are generously donated by Wells Fargo, MIVAL, and the Mercer Island Community. This event is open to all students grades K through 12.
The Junior Art Show is held during Summer Celebration from June 29th – July 9th at the Mercer Island Wells Fargo Bank.
Please pre-register. The pre-registration form allows MIVAL to know how many art pieces will be arriving for the art show. The art show will be in Wells Fargo Bank lobby near Summer Celebration main street, from June 29th to July 9th. Additional information on art entry will be given after completing the form below.
There are Two Artwork Categories:
Two dimensional wall art (2D): Painting, Drawing, Photography, Digital Art, Collage, etc.
Three dimensional art (3D): Crafts, Jewelry, Sculpture, etc.
All works must be original and less than 2 years old
Artwork that received an award in any similar art contest may not be entered
Two entries are allowed per category – maximum of four total possible entries
You may enter both categories
Entry Fee is $5.00 per art work
Parents and legal guardians of artists under the age of 18 yrs old need to fill out the online form below. Thank you for your support
MIVAL Jr. receives grant!
We are happy to announce that MIVAL Jr. has received its first grant for $810.00 from Mercer Island Community Fund (MICF).
The grant for MIVAL Jr. is to encourage and enable art exhibition opportunities, foster mentorship and develop a community network of young artists, provide visual arts demonstrations and educational experiences.
The benefit of the grant will ensure the youth engagement in three planned visual arts projects. The first project is the art exhibition at Covenant Shores, April 29th to June 3rd for youth 6th grade to 12th grade. The second is second is MIVAL Jr. Art Show, a juried show during Summer Celebration at the Wells Fargo Bank. This attracts youth from K through 12th grade to show their talents and meet other artists. The last project is MIVAL Jr. Holiday workshop in December; a fun family, hands-on art event, that educates and engages community.
All the events are organized and managed by volunteers from MIHS high school students, MIVAL member artists and community. We believe this continues to strengthen community’s knowledge about the values of visual arts in our everyday lives.
