Holiday Art and Gift Show 2017
At the Mercer Island Community & Event Center
The MIVAL Holiday Show, sponsored by the Mercer Island Arts Council, is scheduled for November 2nd through December 15th at the Mercer Island Community and Event Center. This year, over 40 artists will be displaying their work which includes jewelry, home decor, sculpture, photography, painting and more.
Reception and Awards, Thursday, Nov. 2, 6:30 – 8 PM
Food, refreshments, live music and artist awards will round out this special evening.
This year our juror is Tom Hoffman, a local watercolorist who has been painting for over 40 years. One of Tom’s works “Eastbound, Route 26” (seen here) 22×30 will be in the show as well.

Our America – Owen Hall, featured artist
Opening Sunday, November 5th from 2-4 PM, MIVAL Gallery will be hosting a reception for Owen Hall our featured artist. Please join Owen and the other gallery members on this fall afternoon. Owen, a watercolor painter, will be displaying works of art depicting “Our America”, the November theme. Join us for refreshments and meet the artists!

Want to make a difference in the life of a young artist? Find the MIVAL Tent at Art Uncorked on September 8, 2017, make a donation and take home a unique hand designed box made by a MIVAL artist. Profits from the sale of the boxes go directly to the MIVAL Scholarship Program, which benefits high school seniors living or attending school on Mercer Island, who will pursue a visual arts degree or otherwise continue in visual arts at a college, university or other arts institution.
Thank you to the MIVAL artists who donated their time and efforts to create these beautiful boxes. We hope to see everyone at Art UnCorked. Access to the street fair is free. Wine tasting is ticketed.

Mercer Island’s Summer Celebration will be July 8th and 9th and MIVAL will again have a presence at the street fair. Our Tent show will be in the Wells Fargo driveway and along the street as in the past. All MIVAL members are invited to sell their work at this event.

43rd Annual Junior Art Show
June 29 – July 9, 2017
MIVAL is excited to once again recognize our young, creative and emerging artists. Awards and prizes are generously donated by Wells Fargo, MIVAL, and the Mercer Island Community. This event is open to all students grades K through 12.
The Junior Art Show is held during Summer Celebration from June 29th – July 9th at the Mercer Island Wells Fargo Bank.

A Unique Art Exhibition Opportunity for Students 6th-12th Grade
MIVAL Jr, MIVAL’S new youth outreach program, is launching it’s first art show! After the success of its Holiday Art Show Workshop last December, MIVAL Jr. hopes to continue developing the local young art community with this month-long exhibition. Read more…

October 18th – Joni’s glass studio, 2 sessions, First at 10 AM , Second at 11:30 (limited to 10 per session). Come blow your own pumpkin, $20 per person. Pack a lunch.
November 15th – Leslie West’s studio, work with hot wax! (limited to 20). Come and make your own encaustic art! $20 per person, pack a lunch.
December 6th – Seward Park Holiday Sale, lunch to be determined.
